ALTERNATIVE THREE
SUGARS, John Francis (122)
ALDERSEY, Cecile (137)
DIAMANTES, James Andrew (124)
Changing the Head of State will not address the important issues; changes to the rules (constitution) that control politicians/government are essential.
The Constitution be retained, as amended by the people, (not politicians) placing politicians, government and courts effectively under peoples’ control.
A body of elected Australian citizens be established to enforce the rules that limit politicians (government) as entrenched in the Constitution.
The people only, (not politicians) shall have constitutional right to put forward amendments to the Constitution.
The amended Constitution shall include all the fundamental principles of common law that the people trust to maintain their freedom.
Following the amendments, the re-drafted Constitution shall go to referendum.
The above principles are essential to restore hope and prosperity to Australians and integrity to government.

ELECT THE PRESIDENT
BREWSTER, Martin (107)
YPMA, Carla (134)
MIHOV-NICOTODIS, Liviu (136)
PROFERES, Nicholas John (109)
PROFERES, Mary Sharon (130)
BREWSTER, Pam (125)

  1. Each Australian must have the right to vote for the President of Australia, or Head of State. A vote for "Elect The President" is a vote for yourself having the right to vote for the President instead of letting members of Parliament have the exclusive role of deciding who is President. The Head of Australia has previously been decided by politicians, who pick mates, or judges. Australia is more than politicians and Judges. Australia is a diverse society. All Australians regardless of their sex, race, or religion, or who they know must have the opportunity and right to stand and vote for the President of Australia.
  2. Recent events demonstrate the monarchy is out of touch, with community values and respect for individuals. By electing the President we can demand that the President stay in touch with people, and community standards. We can also ensure that our children are encouraged to respect people based on the content of their character, and ability to serve Australia rather than who their parents are.
  3. The President of Australia will protect your rights. Make sure you have the right to vote for who the President will be by voting for Martin Brewster (Elect The President).

AUSTRALIAN MONARCHIST LEAGUE
Our Constitution has for 100 years produced stable constitutional Government and protection of our democracy and freedoms that cannot be guaranteed in a Republic.
You can continue that protection for yourself and your children by rejecting the uncertainties of Republics and voting for the Australian Monarchist League Hill Team.
HILL, Raymond Davenport (120)
Retired Newspaper Executive. 6 years Service: Royal Australian Air Force. I urge Australians to reject the uncertainties of a Republic and vote "Australian Monarchist League".
SMITH, Jens Peter (132)
Vietnam Veteran. Labor Party member. Former Hindmarsh-Woodville City Councillor. "Having served Australia I know the value of our Constitution to democracy". Vote "Australian Monarchist League".

WEATHERILL, Jay Wilson (106)
BILL OF RIGHTS FOR AUSTRALIA
The most important features of any constitution are the peoples’ rights protected
by it, yet our Australian Constitution contains no such safeguards. This convention
is your opportunity to guarantee the rights all Australians take for granted and to
ensure fundamental freedoms are preserved for future generations.

GUNN, Kathryn Margaret (108)
EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENT, HUMAN RIGHT$, FIR$T
Even a ‘minimalist’ republic means higher taxes for costly complex changes to our political, social and financial institutions. It means less money for the environment, education, employment and human rights. Our rights, trade and national status will not increase. Vote GUNN to raise the real issues not the national debt.

MERCER, Jeff (126)
YOUR COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE
A family man with two teenage children, Jeff:

CERAVOLO, Heather J. (117)
AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN

The time is right:

BYRT, Ted (104)
A new century - our future

STOYANOFF, Christo (135)
MULTICULTURAL AUSTRALIA: DIRECT DEMOCRACY
It is imperative that all naturalised Australians are supported to express "Multicultural" views and opinions to the whole community by the Government of the day.

ABBOTT, Michael (113)
LAWYERS FOR A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
I stand for the recognition of fundamental human rights and freedoms in a democratic society.
As we proceed to become a Republic it is essential that our rights and freedoms are guaranteed to no lesser extent than they are now.
I believe that I can work to provide that guarantee.

VERRALL, Frank (129)
UNIVERSAL RITES EQUAL OPPORTUNITY SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
I support:

  1. an elected Head of State of an Australian Republic
  2. equal rights to government social services
  3. changing of group dominated structures eg, business, church, political parties, judiciary, government, to include wider community representation
  4. reviewing taxation to include all currently exempt persons and properties
  5. reducing the number of elected politicians.

BOHN, Corina (112)
YOUTH FOR YOUTH
Being a young single mother, working and having an active voice in the community, I feel that South Australian Youth should be represented at the Constitutional Convention.
Youth are our future, a future that will be greatly affected by the Conventions outcomes.
Youth, have your voice heard, vote for me.

BOYLE, Megan (115)
A VOICE FOR AUSTRALIA’S FUTURE
A young person working in local government:

LAWTON, Robert (119)
AN INDEPENDENT REPUBLICAN VOICE FOR SA
Married, 33.
Legally trained, currently working as a conciliator. No political ties.
Interested in constitutional reform over many years. I offer a fresh approach. Disenchanted with the republican and monarchist groups controlled from Sydney.
I want a fair system, breaking links with Royalty but preserving stable foundations for government.
